Books – where a new world awaits…

Learning to read is one of the most extraordinary gifts children learn. But we know it starts much, much earlier than that! We know that babies on laps love to hear the rhythm of a well loved book, the familiarity, the calm that reading a book brings.

Thousands of children’s books are published every year – most are poor, some are just ordinary.

A rare few are utter genius.

Writing a children’s book is an art form. And when an author and illustrator get it right these books speak to our hearts with just a few words and pictures. These books stay with us down the generations. We have books on our shelves here that were first published 35 or 40 years ago, and we couldn’t imagine being without. It’s our great delight remind new families of these gems.  c
