Traditional Hopscotch with Instructions

We love it because:

• Everything you need is already in the box. Chunky chalk for drawing the grid, a bean bag for throwing, and instructions so no one has to remember the rules from their own childhood (or quietly make them up, which is also fine).
• The chalk is gloriously chunky, which means it actually survives enthusiastic small hands and draws a bold, satisfying grid on any paved surface.
• It washes away with rain, which is either a feature or a minor inconvenience depending on how you look at it. Either way, the driveway will be back to normal by Tuesday.
• It is one of those rare toys that improves with more players. Two children is fun. Four children is a tournament. Six children is an entire afternoon sorted.
• Brilliant for balance, coordination and counting, if you want to feel good about the educational angle. Mostly though it's just really good fun.
