My Small Book Club for Nearly Schoolers
We believe the key to a happy and confident transition to school is to prepare early, yet gently.
This is our book club especially designed for children who are heading to school for the very first time in September. This book club runs from May to September, with six books sent at intervals, until the last book arrives on the 1st of September with a special gift from the team here at My Small World for both the new pupil and their emotional parents!
We've chosen the best books for helping children prepare for the big leap to school, alongside a whole raft of activities designed to allow them to spend time thinking about the adventure ahead, from drawing maps of the walk to school, through to colouring in a whole classroom of new friends.
(We run My Small Book Club for Nearly Schoolers in the store, too; alongside reading fantastic books all about starting school we also take a mini register, take turns to be the teacher, practice putting our hands up when we have a question, and generally chat a lot about our excitements about our new schools.)
