How Does it Work?
 The Like A Bike is specifically designed to help children discover their innate sense of balance and control at a really early age. The Bike initially works very much like a scooter. At the beginning, Children tend to sit on the bike and 'walk' with it, and in a very short time their stride and speed increases until at the midpoint of their stride neither foot is on the ground.
It can take a child as little as two weeks, depending on age, to become extremely proficient. Children as young as 2 gain great confidence and independence. The seat is height adjustable, and the bike is likely to last your child well into his or her fifth year, when transferring to a bike with pedals is easy and painless. (And if they decide that they can't bear to be parted from their bike, we also sell extension seats which will give another year or two of use.)
Safety and Reliability.
Years of careful and ongoing development mean that the Like-A-Bike remains the most safety conscious, long lasting, well designed bike on the market. One of the most important and unique safety features is dampened steering on all models, including the metal 'Jumper'. This prevents over steering and also means that no matter how fast your child goes, should they hit a pothole or rock the bike cannot jack-knife and throw them off.
The Like-A-Bike is incredibly robust, and will withstand any amount of adventures across muddy fields, through puddles, over hills and under rain clouds! To extend the life of your bike, we recommend using the rubber hand grips provided, and just like any other bike wiping it dry if it's been used in wet weather, and storing in a dry place.
